to be honest a little too high pitched but they are dumping straight out of the mufflers. i hope that when i run the rest of the pipe that they get a little bass-ier. they do perform flawlessly though. the reason i went with a glasspack setup is because of space constraints. i want to put an under bed fuel tank in and that ment the pipe had to go down the drivers side.

Alright, that is one of the muffler setups I was thinking of trying. I think it will sound good once you've got your exhaust pipes on and on the I-six, youve really got to have your idle rpms dialed in and the carb tuned, if you know what I mean.
Ive got the efi manifolds also. The other one I was thinking of was a two-in, two=out single muffler, like a Dynomax, with two pipes exiting in front of the wheel.
For now Ive got a large Dynomax Turbo muffler and a Y-pipe. Sounds alright, and is good on the backpressure.

I've had glass packs on my F100 (hedman headers) since day one (16 yrs now) and I've been annoyed with the sound since day one. Too buzzy for me. I heard a 300 using flowmasters once and swore that would be next for me. (no idea which flowmaster muffler). But, like you said, they are perfect if you want to conserve space under the truck.

mine don't buzz that bad. albeit they are a little too high pitched for my taste. i would love to run my exhaust pipe tips out in front of each rear tire when it's all said and done. The 2 into 2 may work in this situation but the was the 'packs are right now there is NO spare room.

where to start.... i've done a decent amount to the truck since i last updated.

The center console was starting to get on my nerves especially when i would have people ride in the truck. I'm a big guy and having someone's leg in the way makes driving fun. so i ripped all of that out along with the sub and moved the radio to the head liner. The idea came from a commercially available headliner from jc whitney i think. There is a truck on the site with one. Before i post the pics i must warn anyone who wants to do this and not take their headliner out (mine is a pain to reinstall) this project can take all day.

Image

It keeps the radio delete plate in place, and if i unplug the ipod no one can find the radio by looking in.

i also put in most of an anti-rattle kit for the windows. i didn't catch that the kit didn't come with the lower "fuzzies". The old rubber was so dried out i had to literally chisels it out, But boy was the effort worth it!. No more 60 mile an hour gusts wiping through the cab.

Image

The old tappet cover is back on for now. i got the baffles to clear the rockers. mainly i did it so i could finally get an old cap back on the engine. i also had my 10 mile long dipstick break off so i just compared it to another one i had and cut the difference out of the tube. The duraspack box got moved to the firewall and a lot of unnecessary wires were cleaned up, half of which went to my tach that burned out for the 2nd time. DON'T BUY SUNPRO TACHS! They are crap. i also switched to a tfi coil. The exhaust pipes got reshaped to get them off of the bottom of the cab and all of the leaks were fixed.

Image

I finally got the new hood on. i havn't had a chance to paint it but i wanted it out of harms way. WE had it leaning up in front of the shop which made me nervous. the emblems will be replaced with the 67 badges and the few dents will be fixed. it's 95 % rust free on top of that!

worst dent of the whole hood.

i also got the 82 F100 tank installed. if was hitting the trans crossmember so i had to convince (read hammer) it into shape. Ran the filler through the bed for now. I took the old tank out from behind the seat and put my 6x9's back there to free up the passenger floor board. For some reason people like riding more when they have more leg room *shrugs* .

I was amazed at how much space is behind the seat even when you have it slid back.

Last thing i got done was make up tailgate chains and weld down part of the bumper plate that stuck up. if you've made it this far through the post i appreciate your patience. More to come soon. Keep on bumpin!

Either those are jumper cables behind the seat or you have some major power going to those speakers

FYI- I put my tailgate chains through heater hose so they wouldn't rattle or scratch anything up. Has worked great for 15 years.

Killakobra, can we see some pics of the new pipes? Im still upgrading my stepside, just got an Offy C intake for it, so Im stoked about that. I put on the EFI exhaust manifolds years ago, and managed to find someone to weld an acceptable Y pipe for it and I put on a Walker turbo muffler which I like ok because its pretty good on the backpressure. I may re do it someday, and I was thinking of trying a single muffler with a 2-in, 2-out setup, and I was thinking of trying what you did with the dual cherry bombs. :D
The pics of your project is great, one thing that sticks out is the non correct taillights. Just my hangup maybe. :D
Otherwise, looks good. Hows it runnin?

hah, the reason for the 69 grille is it was already painted.

Those are jumper cables but my friend has power wires run in his blazer that big for his amp.

Tailgate chain covers are going on as soon as i get my new latches installed. as far as whether or not they hit the tail lights i don't know.

i'll try my best to get pictures of the new pipes. i'm going to try to get the new muffler on soon though. it's a Thrust welder 17637. not sure if the chambers mix or not for an x pipe effect. you are correct that the tail lights are incorrect. when i got the truck they had been removed along with their brackets so i bought a trailer tailight package which were close to stock. paid $20 for the pair instead of $40 a piece and it fools most.
