Steering Colunm Linkage Rod
I did the install of a C6 AT in my 71 F100. I used one rod linking the botton of the column to the tranny. Now what is happening when I give gas to the engine, the engine and transmission shakes and the shifter in the steering column moves from the position where it was, let say "D", to the "N". Does anybody have any solution for my problem?

Sounds like you've got something that's loose!!!

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???
That's not an oil leak That's SWEAT from all that HORSEPOWER!!

Re: Steering Colunm Linkage Rod
i didnt think i could find it earlier but here is the ford factory fix for slipping out of gear. http://www.fordification.com/recalls/81V008000.htm also a worn shifter or worn shift gate i guess it is called coul be part fo the problem for most columns slipping out of gear even if they dont have a shaking engine. the shifter originally had to be pulled towards you and then pulled down to shift. if it mostly is able to just pull down instead of pullign towards you then the shifter and or shifter gate could also be worn.
