Help with tire and wheel combo on new F-350
I know it's not a bump, but I need some help. I ordered a new 2011 F-350 King Ranch Crew Cab 4X4 SRW (single rear wheel) SWB. I ordered it with the optional 10,000 lb. GVWR. I have ordered a leveling kit for the front. It will come from the factory with 275/65R/20 tires and wheels. I have ordered a set of 20X10 Moto Metal MO955 wheels to go on it. My question is what size and brand of mud tire do I need. I want to stay around the factory height of 34.1" because I do not want to lift it and I do not want them rubbing. I also want them to look kind of "Low Profile". In other words I would like to see more wheel, less tire. Any suggestions or pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Lazyj

You are kind of confusing me because you say you want a mud tire and kind of low profile. So its hard for me to imagine what you are looking for. I know you tried explaining it but I feel my idea is off from yours.
I am a fan of the Mikey Thompson ATZ's. I have the MTZ's on my highboy and they are great but I think they would be too loud and agressive for daily driver such as your new F350. The ATZ's are all terrain and are not overly large, more middle of the road when it comes to the size of tire. I think they would look great on your truck with 20s!

Re: Help with tire and wheel combo on new F-350
The only other way to explain the "look" I am after is that I want a tire with a shorter side wall. Maybe 4" or so from the ground to the bottom of the rim. Am I making sense? I am thinking of going with the Nitto Mud Grappler or BFGoodrich Mud Terrain KO but don't know what size I need to obtain the look that I am after. I started seeing this "low pro" thing about 5 or 6 years ago on mud tires. I didn't like it at first but it grew on me. Is it the wheel diameter that gives that look? I was thinking about going with a 305/50/20 or a 305/60/20 but I really don't know.fireguywtc wrote:You are kind of confusing me because you say you want a mud tire and kind of low profile. Well the nitto will last you about 20k on the hioghway. I had 35's on 20's and my F350 and I think it's the look you are going for. But the tires wore out fast.

The Toyo MTs supposedly wear pretty well. One of the guys I work with gets about 1-1.25 years out of a set which is pretty good considering how much we drive our trucks for work.

I only live a mile from work and will only put about 12K on the truck and it's a company truck so the company pays for the tires so wear is not a big issue not is the cost within reason. I am just looking for a good mud tire that wont howl too bad and has the "low Pro" look that I am lookin' for.

I don't think you will find that. anything MT is going to make noise you can still hear with the windows up and the radio on. I am not kidding about the Grapplers they wear outh stupid fast. I have heared that these are better on milage and not to loud.lazyj70 wrote:I only live a mile from work and will only put about 12K on the truck and it's a company truck so the company pays for the tires so wear is not a big issue not is the cost within reason.
