1967 F350 Tranny swap

Post by jnggatts »

Hi,

I just bought a 1967 F350 with a custom built Dreamer camper on it.

I'm sure this is a topic that has been hashed on here many times, but I have been searching old post and I cann't seem to find what I'am looking for.

My door tag has a "G" for the trans code, which according to the vin decoder, is a cruise-o-matic.

I am not a fan of auto trannnys and would like to put a manual in it. Can I get some input as far as the best way to do it or should I bother with it.

Thanks
Gary

If it's got an FE (probably 352), the starter and engine plate are the same for manual and automatic.

Don't forget the manual transmission crossmember and rear tranny mount.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

Does everything have to be from a 67-72 or could I use a 73-79 donar truck?
