Re: transmission removal
They were in order....till my mom and sister decided they wanted to clean that area up yesterday, allot of parts got moved around, and I have several pieces put together, but it's this spot im stuck at. Everything else should go in fairly easily, from, what I see in the book. It says a #8 thrust washer. Is there an easy way to identify it? None of the bigger ones have numbers on them.

Re: transmission removal
the way to determine which of those thrust washers go back to what. is to match the tabs to other places they may fit. i do not think that drum will use a second thrust washer because it looks to already have one made onto it. and it doesnt look that great. did you get the pistons out from under the clutches before you put the clutches back into the drums? they have a seal in there that needs to be replaced too. around the piston.

Re: transmission removal
Yup, tore that down and built it all back up. Like I said, most everything is already done. I just get stuck at these little things now and again.

Re: transmission removal
You DEFINITELY need to replace those thrust washers, too.
I'm surprised your mom didn't kick your @$$ for doing that on that light-colored carpet!!!

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

Re: transmission removal
Ok, followed ya'all's advice replaced just about everything new on this thing. Stilll need to mkae a run and get a vacum advance bit, as mine broke. the needle part fell out and isn't going back in, so gonna grab a new one.
Meanwhile, aside form that, the it's ready to be bolted back in and see if it works. Couple questions, just to verify, there is a wire that is attached to the trans and plugs into the same side. which bolt does that go on? It is supposed to be on on of the servo bolts, but my book doesn't say (I've looked left and right, high and low, nothing about it.). Other wuastion is how doy ou guys recommend I install it? Put it on a floor jack and raise it, bolt everything on?

Re: transmission removal
Here is where it goes. THe wire is green, one end is the loop where ti goes arouns the bolt, and the other is a connector to get on one of those prongs.

Re: transmission removal
It doesn't matter which bolt the clip goes on. The switch is for your TRS or trans. regulated spark control. If you do not have the rest of the system ( http://www.fordification.com/library/ma ... temId=6324 ) then it doesn't matter if it's hooked up. Check this schematic to see if your system is complete ( http://www.fordification.com/library/ma ... temId=6324 ) I haven't seen a trans solenoid with two prongs before, my C6 only had one prong.

Re: transmission removal
The other part is on the truck....I'm guessing, because when I pulled the trans out, it only had the one on there, and I'm pretty sure there's another still down there. It only had the one wire when I pulled it from under the truck, so it's possible my pop's pulled the other off and tucked it away...unless it, too, is supposed to be bolted to the trans too...
