Body/frame swap.
Was looking on here about converting a 2wd to 4wd. I have a 1970 f100 and form what I understand you can find a donor rig in 4wd and just swap frames with the same year vehicle? I'm kind of in a odd spot. I have a 1970 f100 and I wanted to lower it and beef it up and swap my 302 for a 351 windsor. BUTTTT I spend a LOT of time in the sierras. We have some property but I live in the city. I have a toyota for wheeling but sometimes I feel bad about lowering a ford truck. A chevy I have no problem with that because they arnt much of a truck to me anyways . Anyways I lik ethe idea of doing a full on restoration with a slight lift and some 255/85/r16's .

You can swap on to a 4wd frame up to 1979, somewhat easily.

As long as it's the same size correct? As in short bed regular cab like mine? Also what does bumpside mean? I thought trucks with the straight side panels were fleetside.

Yes you are correct, and the Bumpside / Dentside thing is how people relate to Ford trucks here on Fordification.
Bumpside= 67-72
Dentside= 73-79
Referring to the body indentation or the lack of it along the side of the truck.

Re: Body/frame swap.
i have a 68 4x4 frame that i have put a 67 2wd cab on, with a 71 2wd bed everything fit great except i had to cutout the trans hump (was from an automatic) and bolt in the plate from my 4x4 (manual trans) other than that everything was the same! good luck
