What are you going to mainly use this truck for? What did you do to tune the carb by the way? I just want to know if I remember it correctly, hit it with a timing light and get that sucker burnin rubber. Sounds good, don't forget to change the oil and filter and put load on the engine (driving) to get it completely broken in. Gotta seat those rings and change the oil because of the micro like particles of metal from the new cam. Got r done!
I got a few more parts I need to get before I can drive it. And also insure it.
I meant transmission oil cooler lines. Sorry that I was not clear enough about that.
I am going to do my best to resist the urge to run it any more until I can drive it.
To tune the carb I hooked up my old school engine analyzer (has a tach function, besides being able to check things like dwell etc) Set my idle rpm at 750, then hooked up a vacuum gauge. I started with both idle mixture screws 1 and a half turns out. Then adjusted each screw each amount until the vacuum reading stopped climbing and the engine started to stumble. Then adjusted the screws back to the highest vacuum reading.
Socal...you are correct. Wow I did not realize my camera picked up the radio in the garage playing. It was not up that loud.
