Thanks for the motivation! The cab and back doors are 67 style but the original front doors had some rust in the corners so I used a nice pair off a 71. I kinda like not having the lock buttons in the back. It is going to have power locks anyway. i had to modify the back doors inside handles to match the front. Sounds like some one had to swap a door off your truck. all my 67 style doors had no lock buttons. We would love to see some pics of your crew, Eric
I am using a vintage air kit, it has 3 control knobs that are going to be placed in the 3 factory holes on the dash just to the right of the steering column. To the left of the column will be a start button where the key cylinder was. All other switches will be placed in a overhead control panel that will have a 15 inch LCD DVD player at the rear of it so some one in the back seat can watch TV.
Todd, are you going to hide the power port behind the ashtray? There are tons of stereo choices, It took me months to figure out which one I wanted. Mine is a pioneer double din that will do all kinds of stuff, stereo, bluetooth, voice activation, GPS, etc. All on the touch screen. They make one that is single din, meaning it can fit in your original opening that does neat stuff too.
Here are some progress pics.
the aprons and core support getting paint and undercoated
installing the aprons and core support
battery trays. didn't realize the auxilary tray was so rare until I read the thread about them.
I applied colored bed liner to the underside of the aprons and the fenders
I am having to modify/make my own moulding for the B pillars and rear doors since finding 70 Ranger crew cab mouldings is impossible. Those pics are coming!
