susp. lift options for F-250...(not too tall!!)

Post by waynaferd »

I know skyjacker makes a 4", but I think that may be a smidge too tall for the look I'm after.....I just want to "emphasize" the stock hi-boy height, with stock steelies and rubber a size or two bigger than the OE tires...

Are there any 2" kits available? I want all new springs and such, so no drop or reverse hangars/shackles. And no body lifts!!

What other springs can I use without too much hassle?

Thanks for any and all thoughts!!

I think what you might like is what I did to my highboy. I put a front end leveling kit on mine since the front suspesnion was shot when I got it. That gives the front about 2 inches. I got the sky jacker kit and it comes with a helper spring for the rear, I didnt use it since I already have some heavy helper springs. If you want all new stuff you can order the leveling kit and then find a place that sells new stock rear springs. I just didn't see any reason to change mine is all.

I am very happy with my ride height and its all suspension. I was able to put 35's under mine.

Here is my project thread for pics and reference. btw dont buy the kit from the vendor that I used, I had a few problems with them. http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... 22&t=47456

Take your current springs to spring shop and have them rebuild them and rearch them for a little bit more lift.

As far as tires how big do you want to go? I played around with them and 315/75/16 (35s versus 31s stock) and they cleared just fine no lift.

The closest spring shop around just went out of business last winter....

fireguy, I'm diggin' your ride...Sweet!!!

I like the stance, but I'm not sure I want to go with that big of a tire. I got 35's on my 94 and like them, but I wanna keep the 250 mostly stock-looking...not an original resto by any means but a resto-rod, I think.

As a side note, I've ordered two susp. systems from rockymountainsusp.com, and both times got exactly what I ordered for a fair price with shipping and all. I'm actually surfing that way now for a 2" lift!!

Thanks again!!
