2wd and 4wd frame comparison

Does anyone have pictures of the actual differences in the two frames? I have pictures of my '69's 2wd frame to use as the 2wd comparison shot but does anyone have any pictures of a bare 4x4 frame? If anyone has a 4x4 frame/chassis, can you take a few pictures of the engine, tranny, t-case cross members?

where did you get that oil pan? is that a stock type of pan or aftermarket?

The oil pan and pickup is from a 74 E series van.

I'm building a mud toy again and i have a 1969 short bed truck that im turning into a 4X4, so far its sitting on a 4inch lift in the back with a 5 inch in front. I want to mach the front end up right, but i dont know what the center to center length is on a 4x4 frame. can someone help me out and tell me what the length is from center to center of the axles or the length from rear front shackle of the leaf springs to the bracket. The front end i bought came out of an 79 bronco if that helps.

Get the coils straight at ride height. If that doesn't help it's easier and looks better to move the tires forward by cutting off the front fenders below the headlights than it is to cut the rear of the fender.

Also, man that is some seriously scary someone-is-going-to-die crap you have going on there with bottle jacks and jackstands on top of cinder blocks on dirt. Stop and think before you do crap like that. Seriously, you could tie the front frame up in the air with hemp rope through a block hanging from any one of the nearby trees and have something considerably safer than that.

well trust me i have it more secure then it looks... haha im a redneck, shake test are always done first! The front frame horns have a 1 inch hole and i have a chain hooked to them so just in case those stands fall its wouldnt go anywhere.

what will happen is the chain will break or come loose or soemthing. that will jar the truck so the hydralic jacks will wobble or manke the bricks indent to one side or another or break the bricks. then the whole thing will crash down to drop onto the frotn stands with those bricks. it may stop there but it could break those bricks or make the stands slide off the bricks. really i would do something different. i would atleast make soem wooden cribbing in place of the hydralic jacks. and or put the stand back there where the jacks are and put wood under them instead of bricks. the bricks are stronger if you place the with the holes up and down instead of side to side. if you place any bricks with the holes up and down you need to have solid cap blocks underneath them to spread the weight so they dont sink into the dirt.
