(DELETE) My month of change (DELETE)
Well, things have changed this month. No not April, I'm a day or two late for this post. Anyway, we have been trying to sell our 96 Mountaineer and our 99 Econoline for a long time off and on. We just put the Mountaineer up for sale and it sold pretty close to right away. Cool, but then a guy my dad works with decided to buy our van before we even got to put it up for sale. Its our only vehicle suitible for towing and we were planning on getting an f150 with the money from them and what not.
Another guy my dad works with was going to sell us a really nice 2005 f150, but backed down at the last minute. Plus we couldn't find a good one at a dealer for the right price and were ticked off because the dealer, wouldn't deal. We stumbled across a 2004 f250 for sale on craigslist. We checked it out and boy were we in love. I guess they go for around $18,000 and we got ours for about $11,000 in good condition. The interior was dirty but it can easily be cleaned, it just rolled over to 118,000 miles which is typical for a 5 year old truck. Its a crew cab and an FX4 at that. New rims with tires that were getting baldish. Even with new tires and what not it was a heck of a deal. it has bigger tires on it and a body lift on it. I've been in love with it since we got it earlier this week.
Then we had problems-galor with Hooker headers with both comp and super comp headers for the cougar. today, we got custom made headers from hedmen headers and they look great. So I'm geeked about that.
Everything just turned out perfect because if the guy with the truck didn't back down, we would have got less truck for a higher price. Plus it had more miles. I feel the same now as I did when I got the bump. In love.
So things are going great, not trying to rub it in or rant.
Pics soon to come.........
We had a new 2003 f250 FX4 back when it was new, my dad is always saying how he wishes he never got rid of it. It was black and we put blue pin stripe flames on it. Loved it but it had to go, we NEVER thought we would be able to have a f250 again.
But look what happened, it all turned out for the better. We were joking about driving through the dealership with it and waving at the salesman. Should have given us a deal, but glad he didn't.

Re: My month of change
Thanks, I think about it all day in school and can't wait until my dad brings it home. I'm cleaning it out tomorrow. For a short time my dad was driving 45 min. to work in our maverick. Wouldn't be the first time though.

Re: My month of change
Caseys71:I think he likes driving a truck more than a car. Like me But I haven't really driven my bump or this. But I will drive the f250 soon.
Biggdogg: You of all people. What are the chances you like red?
hazelnut: Its a 330 aka a 5.4 triton. It takes 6 quarts.
Its got a trans cooler and all the goodies for towing. 4.10 gears but the guy put bigger tires on it to fill in the wheel wells and drop the ratio a bit to about 3.80. He put a little bit of a body lift on it and it has the plowing package (plow not included) .
*EDIT* I forgot to add, we needed a truck that could tow our cars to the drags. The van pulled the Maverick like nothing. But when we pulled the Cougar without the motor, we could tell we were pulling something. We also were looking in the long run, we need something to tow my bump around. Just in case something happens, I would like to drive it, not tow it. But its better to tow it and not have problems then not tow it and have problems. I plan on making my 67 my work truck when I'm older. I'll treat it like a queen, but still use it to tow things and what not. Why? because of the 500+hp and 600+ft-lbs it will tow another truck the same size no problem.

Re: My month of change
I think I screwed with our luck. The extremely expensive custom made headers don't want to work either. Just like the comp and super comp headers.
THIS IS BULL PUCKEY!!!lol
I forgot to add that me and my brother spent the whole day cleaning it up yesterday, then today it rained and crap from a tree went all over it. I ICE waxed the whole thing by hand too. Wax on, wax off.

Not for not, but things happen for a reason, even if it appears to be random. Glad y'all got a deal on the 250. and sld your other two vehicles quick enough.
