Killakobra, you know I like your truck, it reminds me of mine when I first got it. For me I was looking for a stepside, this is what it looked like as purchased in Oregon for the full price - $700.
Image
the paint was a maaco job that was peeling and falling off so I sanded it all down to the orig. chrome yellow.
Then painted it orange.
I'ts a great DD now. Enjoyable to drive. C4 auto, good gas mileage at 14 mpg. w/ the 3.70 diff. Why would I sell this truck?!
Hope you feel the same about yours, its the only truck you need.

Hope this isnt HI jacking!

I love the way the truck looks. Especially all the dings and dents.

went to a scrap yard thursday and ende4d up with 2 hoods and a set of great front fenders. one is going on my daily and the other is going on my other project.

they were almost too big to haul in my stepside.

Image

this is the worst of the two. The black hood is peach.

the only real damage

the blue one has the fancy trim which i'm most likely removing. may be up for sale if it's worth salvaging.

How in the heck did you manage to find a yard that still has bumps in it?

it's in SC. i found it on accident actually. When my dad and i were on our way to look over my truck before buying it, we saw a 72 f600 being towed into the yard. We stopped in later to look at the front fenders and found out they have a slew of bumps and dents there. Thankfully it's a family run place and they appreciate old vehicles.

after an irritating turn of events, i had to use the spare engine in my daily driver. The old engine finally had a valve go in it. The good news is that i have the new 300 in with the 600 holley and now duel exhaust! Well, at least the front half anyway. had a coil burn up on me and it gave me a fun week of trouble shooting. all in all it wasn't that bad and now the truck is running better than ever. pictures will be up soon.

Hit one snag in the engine swap. the pre-EFi 300's have a shallower valve cover and your rockers will hit it at higher RPM's. enough with the dlown sides, time for evidence.

exhaust is only half done. i need to get the tail pipe ordered so i can start fabbing.
Image

and i have room for a gas tank on the other side of the driveshaft......

.....whish the 82 was nice enough to donate!

had some fun pulling donuts in a parking lot last night :D

That's it for now, and until next time. :fr:

Gotta ask, how do the twin glasspack mufflers sound and perform with your efi exhaust manifolds?
