I think that was the stock F250 panel.... heck, it's been so long I forgot what it originally looked like! Yes, I cut the center out and fitted a new .125 aluminum center section.

Hey.... I ran accross some old pics. That original cluster originally had round gauges in it! F600?

You sure it's 91-97 and not superduty 99+? My 97 F-350 PSD is still vacuum boosted with an external vacuum pump (ask me how many times I've replaced the POS pump  ) I know the superduty are Hydroboost but as far as I know none of the previous model years were.. :?

Yes, I did a little part searching and it looks like actually 90-97 F350/F450. The thing with the 99+ hydroboost is that the actuating rod to the peddle is too long and you have to space out from the firewall to use.

huh...Never heard of or seen hydro on those years F350 unless it was converted using super duty parts...

I could see it on the trucks bigger than F-350 but I'm suprised if it was factory that nobody in the PSD forums has swapped it in. The only threads I see on OBS brakes is either "how do I replace my vacuum pump" or " this is how I converted to Hydro using SD parts"

Well.... now you can go over there and straighten all those PSD guys out!

Completed my NV271 fixed yoke conversion this last week and it worked out real nice.

So it's drive shaft time.... standard 1350 CV on the right.

Looks like I got this power steering figured out....

This pump came in a pile of parts from a craigslist buy...it is a Eaton BB type power steering unit that was rated at aproximately 2000 - 2100 psi. I was able to order a seal kit and new regulator valve to reduce the op pressure to 1500psi which should work... I talked with the guys over at PSC and they said 1600 psi to my steering box (78-79 Ford) max or the sector shaft seals will leak, so thats why I went with the 1500psi reg.

Drive shaft....

Shaft will be here next week.... these guys over at High Angle Driveline have taken that agricultural CV (which does not survive sustained high speed applications) and performed (what Jess describes as) a little (or was it major) brain surgery. The net result is improved lubrication and durability for street use!

:D

Here she is next to your standard 1350 series CV...

That PS pump should work fine. I have a similiar ZF version of that pump from a 98 F800 in my 89 F-350 with hydroboost and stock power box. I didn't touch the regulator at all, figured I'd see how it worked first. Never measured the pressure, but it feels a good bit more than the F350 had. No problems at all yet. In 4x4 on dry pavement with a few tons on the bed one finger can turn that wheel lock-lock.

Since the ZF pump I had use JIC connections I drilled and tapped my hydroboost for NPT and screwed in JIC nipples to run real hydraulic lines for hoses.

Nice driveline.
