I got the doors on the other day, but the cab is not bolted down, the front wrap is just sitting there too.
Image
I sanded the interior, and put POR15 on the the floor pans and in a few other usual rust areas.
Image
I even got carried away and sanded stuff I wasn't even going to paint, like behind the gas tank.

Not much to update, I just need to paint the interior and I can put it all back together, with that mythical time I don't have. But I just got all the stuff for the paint job, which cost $700!
I will probably do a lot of stuff to the truck while I have the next few days off, and nice weather. Hopefully.

Hey 1967AceStroker, that looks like some excellent paint material there!

Is that Finex FX3000 by any chance? That's the first HVLP I picked up and it was very nice. I noticed that the replacement parts for it are made by Graco.

I messed up my FX3000 pretty badly by running Rust Bullet Automotive through it without cleaning it thoroughly enough afterwards. That stuff really destroys nozzles and air caps!

Nothing, but the best for my '67!

It sure is a Finex FX3000, good eyes robroy. It does say Graco on it, so i'd assume the replacement parts are through them. Finex is probably their automotive gun department, or offbrand.

That rust paint like Rust Bullet, or POR15 is some tuff stuff, thats too bad about your gun. I am gonna take good care of mine cause it might just paint a few more cars.

Yeah, D&S Paint. I have nothing but great things to say about them, I have dealt with them a lot. I bought everything I need for paint and body work from them.

'67 Short Wide Build (Update11-27)

Post by 1967AceStroker »

Well I spent most of today cutting the drip rail off of my truck and welding. It was easy as cake to cut off, but I figured out that i'm going to have to weld most of the seem.

Cut off and smoothed.
Image

Tacking it back together. Tack welds... lots... and lots of tacks.
Image

I also started to weld in some of the body trim holes.
Image

Going full euro front lighting. I already had the clear turn signal covers. I have LMC's brightest bulbs in them too. I think they are 4200k HID blue tinted bulbs.

I have just been paining a bunch of little stuff.

I painted the insrument panel gloss black, and "frosted"(painted blue) the gauge needles.
Image

I also painted the rearview mirror, but when I unmasked it, it was broke! I painted it in the morning and let it dry all day, and left it in the garage overnight. I don't know if they tape pulled it when it got really cold over night, or what?

Hey 1967AceStroker, those blue dials look GREAT. I've never seen anybody do that before--I think you're the first! Pretty strange about the mirror huh?
