429/460 timing set
Can someone give me a part # for a non-retarded timing set?

Don't know the part #, but we used to put 70-71 429 sets in the later 460's...really wakes the motor up.
As a metter of fact, i AM trying to keep up with the Jones'

I think I always used a 69 LTD 429 as the car to look up parts. Above would work as well but you know how the parts guy has to have a car to look up on the computer.

I hear that. I bought a adjustable timing set thinking that would have a straight up timing. Nope.
On a side note Clint, how does your truck drive with the 3.00 gears? Able to light up the tires?

Re: 429/460 timing set
Sorry to be so late in answering this. I have 3.25's in there now but when I have the 3.0's in there yes it has no trouble at all spinning the tires. I have not had the 3.0's in there along with the Lock-Rite yet but I doubt it will have any trouble turning them over with that either.
I am wanting to go back to the 3.0 and swap the Lock-Rite into it pretty soon. Just have'nt gotten my energy and back ready for it yet.
