that looks really good, I'm in the middle of wire-wheeling my inner fenders and other misc parts too, did you paint the carb silver?

Re: Engine Compartment Detailing Complete
Yeah, i (regrettably) painted the carb silver. I started into polishing it and then realized that to make it look decent and not compromise seals/linkages/etc... that I would need to disassemble it. Since the truck runs good I didn't see a need to rebuild the carb yet, plus i was running short on time.....so.....I wiped it with thinner and shot it quick. Maybe next year i'll pull it off, rebuild it and polish it up after removing the paint.....
I used the same pictures as a guide.....but I read somewhere else that in 1968 the valve cover bolts were black and that picture shows them painted blue. I'm in no position to question that 358 mile originality, but i also though the black heads on the bolts give it a more original look....even if not how it was originally done.

That looks awesome Ben. It looks like a brand new master brake cylinder and the color of blue on the engine is just like I remember. I wish I had been in town for the Dream Cruise, maybe next year. I definately need to do the engine compartment on the '68 ****. Ralph and Judy took it while I was in Iowa, did you see them on Woodward? We are getting excited, any day now!
