twin stick 205 in Farm truck...too much???

Looking for opinions here.
I know of quite a few people who have twin sticked 205's in there off-road rigs. I was thinking about doing it for my 4WD conversion.
Overkill??? This truck won't ever going wheellin', or get used in mud drags. Just across the muddy/frozen fields, and thru wood lots, and a few other places.
I can see an advantage to rear low only with road hauling. ie: 10,000lbs and needing to take off up hill on a hard surface.
Not sure any way else i'd use it.

I would think if you only wanted it for two wheel low, unlock the front hubs.

I haven't seen an over the counter twin stick for a divorced 205...

That said, if you need lower gearing than the 6.xx of the 435, you are really pulling a load uphill....

My 205 will be married to an NP 435.

Never thought about just leaving the front hubs unlocked

Occasionally the trucks pulls loads between 10K-12K. Sometimes she grunts a little.

I have a twinstick Dana-24.I spend a lot of time in the high country with trailer. it is useful to me .easy to do and not too much$$$

Twin stick is a very nice option IMO.
It also stops your front driveshaft from turning (always been one of my biggest chebby things) as most 70's chebbys came with full time hubs.
The less you have turning / the less that's wearing is what "part-timing" is all about.
I'll be doing the twin stick on my 205 when I get that far.
