Throttle Questions
Can anyone provide me a picture that shows proper hook up of the springs and throttle linkage to a 1971 f25 2wd 4160 carb?
And also i would love if any one could tell me where to but the linkage bracket that is on the engine in the back near the fire wall where it all hoks into, as mine is very wobbley and loose. So that makes it had to get the throttle right too...
thanks for any help

Re: Throttle Questions
The return spring would be connected to this bracket @ the coil mount.
As for finding the trapeez thing in good shape... try posting here in the want adds.
Some will eliminate the linkage and just run a rod from the pedal arm to the carb. But the whole reason for that piece is to stablize the throttle control. On the street it's not that big of deal. But if off road where the frame/cab are twisting when going over bumps and hills, you'd really notice the difference.. I did in the 71 hi-boy I had.

Re: Throttle Questions
Sorry if this is a hijack...
Would that linkage work on a 460? Or did the 460 have a different trapeze thing for the throttle?

Re: Throttle Questions
Pretty sure the 460 bolt patern is different. 460 didn't come around til the dentside generation and I think they went to cables at that time.

Re: Throttle Questions
Found this old post during a search for a similar solution... would you mind posting a pic of your setup, from the carb back to the firewall? My trapeze bracket and linkage doesn't work well after converting my '69 302 from a 2bbl to a new intake and a 4bbl... I'm looking for a different/better throttle linkage solution...19674x4 wrote:i did the un thinkable and got a cable from a Cheby and a pedal from a Fairmont and a stud kit from napa and ran the throttle that way, I loved it

Re: Throttle Questions
Convincor, did you have to modify the kickdown rod any when you went to the Holley?

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

Re: Throttle Questions
I have the same carb manifold setup as Convincor and I didn't have to change the or modify the kickdown rod.
