1 barrel carb problem

I have a 1967 f100 with a 300 and 1 barrel carb. It will not idle runs good down the road but blows black smoke and pours out to much fuel when starting and idling any help would be great.

I know nothing about large 1 barrel carbs on cars but I do not think they can be too different from their small engine kin.

Sounds like it is running quite rich. Messed with the ide and mixture screws any?

I'll assume it's a carter YF... Most likely the pump inside is shot and leaking
gas down inside the middle of the carb. Also could be a stuck float needle.
Just a spec of dirt or crud can cause that.
You'll need a rebuild kit to fix it up if the valve diaphragm is shot.

i unstuck the float and also added an electronic ignition system no it runs great thanks for help :fr: :fr:
