Need New Throttle Cable

Post by Parker »

I'm in the process of installing a new 4BL Holley and Weiand intake for my 302. Can someone suggest/point me to a new throttle cable? My old cable was two metal rods pieced together. I'm using the original gas pedal. Thanks

you should be able to get a new rod at the parts store. or a cable from a newer truck might work.

I am hunting for this same solution. New Edelbrock 4bbl and intake where a 2bbl used to be on my '69 302, and my original throttle linkage isn't going to work. It can't open up the carb all the way, no matter how I adjust it. I'm thinking I need some kind of adapter or switch to a cable operated system instead... but I'm here to search for what kind of adapter or cable would work.

Sorry I don't have an answer... just found your question while searching the forum before I asked my question. : )

When I installed a Holley 600 on my 70 F100 with a 360, I just went to the local auto parts store and bought a length of 1/4" threaded rod and two ends.

Cut the rod to an approximate length and then make the fine adjustments with the threaded ends.

The rod works fine attached directly to the carb and the accelerator pedal.
