Make sure to get a lift type pump, or one that will suck fuel. Most electric pumps will require you to weld a fitting to the bottom of your tank, because they must be gravity fed. Check out facet brand pumps.

what one would be better? What GPH rating do I need?

A: http://www.facet-purolator.com/index.ph ... &Itemid=36

B: http://www.facet-purolator.com/index.ph ... &Itemid=31

If I mount it in the engine compartment would that be to far away from the tank?

Either one would do the job, I have allways used the round oblong ones myself, I Have never seen the cube one before. They all say to mount it near the tank. Most electric pumps push fuel better than push. Having said that I mounted mine on my 80 Fiesta under the hood because the tank is under the rear seat and hard to get to. But the pump works great where its at. Put a inline filter between the tank and pump. It helps keep junk out of the pump. :2cents:
