I replaced mine with tube I got from NAPA,I did it just likeTNIceWolf said. Its been in there for years now and no problems. If the manifold is on the engine as mine was, I took off the water pump to make installation easier

Re: Coolant System Bypass Tube
No Joke! Ouch $40 for the Tap and another $23 for the Drill. I found the right Nipple as described. It was 2 and a half inches long, so I cut off the 1/2 not needed and drove it home using a block of wood and the help from another friend to hold the tube in place as I did the hammering.
After removing the excess 1/2 inch I filed the cut end down a little and smoothed it a bit to make gettting it started easier. I then painted the end with of the tube with Permitex gasket sealer (the Purple stuff). Once it was started into the hole, it was just a case of hitting the block of wood hard enough (limited area to getting a good swing with the hammer, even with the Radiator out if the way) to drive the tube home. I endeded up leaving about 7/8 of an inch of the tube exposed because the tube from the water pump was a little more than an inch exposed. With a section of 5/8 inch hose cut to a length of 2 and 1/4 inches, the job was done. Again I used a helping hand of another person while getting the water pump installed.
Cost about 4.75 for the part. In my case CarQuest Part number 278961. Total cost for the job was about $50, but then I also replaced the all of the other hoses and gaskets (3) involved, and Flushed, Drain and Refill the system with new Antifreeze. Thanks to everyone that responded!!!
