House cleaning...
I found a pair of FE cylinder heads with "C1AE" cast on them and the letter "A" just below the cast numbers and just above the exhaust ports. Does anyone know what they could be from? 332 or 352?

the number you gave dotn come out to say truck,. they are more of a car number. since they didnt put a 352 in a car i woudl have to rule out the 352. it could have came off of a car sized engine. whatever they had in them.

Re: House cleaning...
The first car I ever actually paid for myself was a '62 Ford Country Sedan Station Wagon
(like this, but mine was white and no roof rack)
It came with a 352/auto, later I bought a '62 Galaxy, but it had a 312/auto... it was doggy compared to the 352.
The wagon is the one I gutted and made a dirt road racer out of it... so I guess it was sorta a pre-pre-runner pre-runner...

Re: House cleaning...
My dad bought a brand new 1965 Ford full size custom 500 and it had a 352 and dual exhausts on it. It even had the 352 badges on the front fenders. I don't remember if it was a 4bbl or not. According to my Motors Repair Manuel 1966 was the last year for the 352 in cars.

Re: House cleaning...
That's pretty cool about the 352's with duals. I think Ford always installed duals on the engines built for 4 barrels. Were'nt 352's available in 1967 pickups? I think the engines were and painted Ford blue. When my Edsel was delivered it had duals and the Lincoln's had duals.
Anyway I found some more stuff if anyone can identify what they are off of. 1 pair of cast iron exhaust manifolds C60E-9430-F and C6AE-9431-E, maybe 289 or 302 but don't know if they are for a car or truck. Right hand exhaust manifold C8AE-9430-A, is that for a car or truck? And a bell housing CAG-6394-A for a standard transmission, I'm thinking Y Block?
I checked with our local flathead V8 doctor in town and he thinks the C1AE heads are from a 332. They have the smaller valves so got that figgured. Thanks for all the help.

The mechanic who worked on my father's cars until I was 12 or 14 had a '66 Galaxie with a 352.

There was a '66 Galaxie in a salvage yard here several years ago that had an FE under the hood and 352 badges on the fenders.

Re: House cleaning...
C1AE is a 1961 date code. The 332 was only '58 and '59.

I have a 300hp 390 that I pulled out of a '64 T-bird that had C1AE heads on it. They have taller intake ports and higher exhaust ports than the later FE heads.

Cool. It still is a 1961 date code and was made in 1961. Someone swapped heads or engines.Brokenarrow wrote:I have a 300hp 390 that I pulled out of a '64 T-bird that had C1AE heads on it. They have taller intake ports and higher exhaust ports than the later FE heads.

Re: House cleaning...
The casting number has nothing to do with the date of manufacture. The date codes on these heads are 3G3 & 3H6. The first digit is the year, the second digit is the month, and the third digit is the day of the month. So these heads were manufactured on July 3rd & August 6th, 1963. There is an article on the Fordification homepage that explains this.sideoilerfe wrote:Cool. It still is a 1961 date code and was made in 1961.
