junk yard gold

Post by mouse »

I fond two 390 fe in one yard, one was striped and the other was together. I grabbed the 4 barrel intake off the one that was together, it also had a/c and I will go back for it. When I go back I will grab the crank out of one of them, witch holly carb would be good for a 360. I have found a 750 for $50 and should I put a cam in at the same time

So are you saying that you are currently running a 360 in your truck? If so keep in mind that the 360 and 390 cranks are different. If you've got it all apart anyways a mild rv cam wouldn't be a terrible thing for a few extra hp and ft lbs. As for the carb a 750 is waaaay too big. Find a good 600 with vacuum secondaries and you will be set.

I second that. I put a 750 with vac secondaries on my stock bottom end 390. It is way too big. A 600 would have been perfect.
