Painted my nova that color with ghost flames underneath. It's a good color, imagine that color but without the even glossiness.

VERY NICE. I like the color and the headliner looks great. Shaping up nicely. I wish mine would come along like that. I Gotta get my transmission changed and start my body work. Loos great, and the ol six shaped up nicely too. I gottta remember that cobalt pearl blue. I really like it.

Thanks , I've been working hard on it, I realy want to drive it, especialy since it's going to be my first and only vehicle. I plan on using the wheels that are on it and for tires i'll just get what ever I can find that won't break the bank too bad. I got the hood mostly sanded down today, tomorrow hopefuly I can work on doing some bondo.

Re: My 72 f100 project (update 8-3-09)

Post by madbiker4 »

Thought I would give a little update, I haven't had very much time to work on it lately because I've been working on finishing school so I can get my diploma, but I have gottena few things done. I got the hood sanded down and fixed about half of the dents. I blastsed my rims and painted them, then got a new set of uniroyal tiger paw gts to go on them. I got the wiring buttoned up other than a few loose ends here and there, and got the engine roaring again. I also got my brakes fully functional, it's amazing what a differance a booster makes in braking power. I hope to have time to get the hood done this week, if nothing else get the dents filled and prime it. here are a few pix of it so far. once I get the hood and bed done I should have it on the road. let me know what ya think

They are the wheels that came on the truck when I got it. When I was changing the tires there was a sticker on the inside, couldn't read much of it but they are aftermarket 8x15 with a offset center.

I managed to get the hood painted over the weekend, it came out pretty good, only one run in it. I can't get any pictures right now because my brother took the camera with him to Ohio, but will take some this weekend for sure. I also scored a set of 67 side emblems with the red background on ebay, which I like way better than the later model ones. Also, how do I edit the main title of this thread? I want to put the date in when I have an update, but can't seem to figure it out.

can you run the 67 side markers on a 72? not just the bolt holes but the fact that the made it law in 68 to have side reflectors? i dunno if they care, but it's a thought. i'm not sure if the holes to bolt up the emblems are the same, just jumped into my head.

Most won't even know, their biggest care when citing safety equipment is the lights. and then they only sight the obvious ones that are missing. like if you have a 70-72 but it has a 67-69 bed on it if there is no light thats burnt or a hole indicating a missing socket they won't realy care.

and on editing main title i think you can only do that by editing the original post.

I am not too worried about the reflector thing, like rj said, the only things they look for is that all the lights work and if it's newer than July 73 they have to make sure the emissions are all there. infact , my 72 had the charcoal filter for the fuel tank , I removed that because I used a tank from a 700 which didn't have it, they won't even notice or care. as for the emblems bolting up, they fit perfectly. I'll have to try doing that next time I update. thanks
