I have a 67 f250 with a 390 v4 not sure of motor year. I would like to change from points sys. to electronic ignition. I would like to use ford parts and need info. for what year models would be best for this change over. In the meantime what is the best point gap for my rig? I think my motor is the truck model (low compresion for low end torque),c6 trany with dana 60 / 4.10 to 1 ratio. p.s. I'm new here but so far I like what I've seen keep up the good work.

Get a Durospark distributor from a '75-'76 and a Durospark box from the auto part store.
Side oiler FE, see if you can catch me!!!

Does anyone have knowledge of pertronics II vs. dura spark dist. set up? Will I have wiring issues with the dura spark sys? Is the pertronics sys. reliable? If the pertronics is reliable I think I will be leaning to that as a fix. Any input will be well accepted.

I've been using the Pertronix for many years in different vehicles and boats and never had a problem.
Had DuraSparks in a couple 77-79 t-birds. Had problems.. :2cents:

Thanks that does it for me, looks like I'm going to refit with pertronics.
