FE heads question

Post by 69rangerf100 »

ok here it is. i found a set of 427 hi- performance heads off a 89 427 so the Craigslist add says would these heads work on a 69 390 block and what kind of mods would have to be done to have the engine perform correctly

An 89 427?

If it is an FE engine they will work depending on valve size you may have to slightly notch the cylinders for clarance.

Of course I wan't aware of any FE's built that late so any number of changes might have been made for a boat, irrigation or industrial motor...

yes it could be from a ft engine. if it is from a ft engine it may not work on a fe engine because of the location of the water jackets in the head and block. they are in different places.
