Post by marine6212 »

I converted my 1970 F250 from a 2BBL to a 4BBl carb. Now my linkage is too short . Does any one have a Pic of how there 4 BBL is hooked up or what they used to modify there conversion? Its a autolite 4100.. I got a heck of a deal on the intakemanifold and carb. $60.00.. :hd: :hd: . I couldn't resist converting it over. It should run like a raped ape when I get everthing hooked up!! :woohoo: Thanks for all the info and input it is greatly appreciated.

you can probably use just a straight rod to the pedal from the carb. i think thats what a lot of guys are doing.

You'll have to make the linkage longer with the 4V carb. They sit farther forward than the 2V as you know. I took a straight rod and just lengthened it about 2 inches.

Thanks for the info. I just took some safety wire and twisted it up for now so that I can move the truck around the yard..
I still need a exhaust from the manifolds back. Man is that 390 loud with open manifolds. Does any one have a good internet site that I can order a exhaust from thats under $200 + shipping?

You're gonna have to pay alot more than that for good exhaust. You could make a system if you had a welder.

Then buy your choice of muffler and make a tailpipe out of the elbows and strait pieces they sell at the auto parts store for a reasonable cost.
