Can't believe I haven't checked out this thread yet. I must say, This is an awesome project. It's going to be one monster of a nice bump when finished. You have some very good fab skills. I like to see the pride and workmanship in a project like this. Thanks for sharing.

Just about all done with the exhaust ports.... I still want to work the bottom of the valve guides a bit.

Comments/suggestions?

Are your hands sore yet?

Looking good Mark. I wish I could see it in person to get a better idea how much material is there.

In my experience, if I remove intake port material to the point where the "swirl" design of the port starts to look more like a straight through flow I lose a bit of low end power and gain spool time. If I simply smooth and enlarge the areas that look to be awkward and rough it seams to net the best results.

I don't have a flow bench and just my seat of pants dyno. I just grind away what I feel will hurt flow.

Hey Dustin..... not the hands! My shoulders are whipped! I had to take a break before getting to the intakes. I finished the exhaust off by running through the ports with a snap gauge to make sure that everything was dimensionally the same.

Using Borg Warner Airworks turbos.... ultimately will be running compounded set up with a S300 series over a S400 series. Might start the truck up on a single S300 till I get other thing sorted out.

Finally got back at it...... ruffed in the intakes today. It seems that most of the information found on porting the Cummins 12 valve revolves around the exhaust ports... not much information about the intakes?

To properly port the intake side the intake plenum is usually cut off. I feel it's overkill for a street engine. You should see solid gains from just a good bowl cleanup.
