Engine Swap

Post by rlgrantjr »

Would I have any issues replacing the 360 in my 70' F250 with a 390 from a 73' F250?

Thanks in advance,

Roger

Nope. Should be a straight bolt in. Only thing I can think of is if the '73 had a manual tranny, and the '70 had an auto, there is a bushing in the end of the crank shaft that will have to come out. Just pack the cavity with good stiff grease, use a punch or piece of solid rod that fits snugly into the bushing, whack it smartly with a hammer, and the hydrostatic pressure will pop the bushing right out.
