TRUCK RUNNING LIKE A SNAIL PLEASE HELP

ok i have a 272 yblock manual transmission with a 2 bbl carb the carb has a governor so it only allows me to give it a little bit of gas what can i do to make the truck run a little faster

is there anything i can do about that should i just take it off n take it to a carb shop or is there something i can do myself
