Re: Engine Swap
Im actually looking at a 351m engine now instead of the 302. Will the bellhousing from my 4speed match with the 351m? and the 302 mounts will work with a 351 right. Thanks.

Re: Engine Swap
the 351m bellhousing is different than the 360 and the 302 bellhousings. yo uwill need the correct bellhousing fo rthe engine you use. the 351m is a smog motor and needs work to be a good runner. the 360 is a truck engine just like everyone else has. the 360 can also be built into a 390 with a new crank rods and pistons. the 351m will still be a 351m when you get done modding it. just with more pep.

Re: Engine Swap
ok thanks, he says the 360 is currently connected to a 4spd std, the same tranny as I have. So if i bought the 360 it will hook up with my tranny and bellhousing right?

Re: Engine Swap
you will need the bellhousing that is hooked to the 360 now. the 302 bellhousing wont fit a 360 engine the bolt pattern is different.

Re: Engine Swap
thanks for all the help fordman. You mentioned above that you can build it into a 390. Do you just need crank rods and pistons out of a 390 engine?

Re: Engine Swap
Bought the 70 f250 for $400 going to pick it up friday. kinda rusty but i want the engine and a few other parts . By the way for the 360/390 conversion why would you kneed 390 heads if the 360 is the same bore as the 390? I heard all you kneed is the 390 crankshaft and 390 rods and your set for the conversion? Does that sound right? Thanks.

Re: Engine Swap
truck heads are all the same for 352 360 and 390. car heads might be different though. yo udont need to change heads to make it a 390.
