Fuel Filter

My 72 bump, 302 ci, manual tranny, 2bbl carb. I have the carb off , not disassembled yet, for a rebuild. It has the original hard gas line from the pump to the carb. My question is this, is the only fuel filter the one in the fuel pump( big canaster). i've seen the ones one an fe engine like on my 69 that screw into the carb. Is there some kind of round filter behind the fitting where the line screws into the carb or is the one in the filter it? As always thanks for all you guys help.

You have one filter. You can ad another if you want. You can ad the one right before the carburetor easily or ad a clear plastic one right before the pump.
