Which Oil Filter?

Post by sixy »

I've been reading the forums, and I see that Fram filters are bad. Any others I should avoid at all costs? Any that are preferable? I just purchased my truck this week and it has Purolator on it.

Thanks!

Yep, I like motorcraft #1, and WIX always gets good reports.
The last time I changed the oil they were out of my usual MC FL1A.
So I decided to try a STP being as I've been using them on my car
with decent results. So far, no problem at all. And the anti drainback
valve seems to work fine. It's been on there a couple of months at
least and no trouble. So STP is one that is also OK it seems as far
as the pesky drain valve that is critical on the sixes.
That's the gripe with the FRAM. Not the filtering.. It's the lousy
anti drain valve.
