Are you kidding me!! $100 for a thermostat housing!! WOW!! I'm stunned that anyone would ever consider asking that much for such a simple part. Again, WOW!!!

not for that kind of money. the chrome ones are made of tin and will be just like a valve cover and flex when the botls are put in. the orginals usually work fine as long as the surface is burr free and clean with a good gasket.

I guess I asked for it. No ofense guys but I know it is expensive  . Thats why I asked for your input. What I was hoping to find was comments about the product (has anyone had experience with the manufacturere?) or sugestions (ceramic coating?) of other housings that you all have had good luck with. I work just as hard as you guys and don't want to shell out the money for a product that is not up to par. I am not trying to hurt any feelings, just looking for ideas or alternatives. Thanks for the help.

If one gasket doesn't cut it, double up. I even used a three layer notecard/rubber cement sandwich when I was in a bind once, and it performed admirably (not sure how long it would last, though).

Ouch 3 gaskets that is a good way to break the ears off. Glue thermostat rim to housing with Permatex or 3m Weather strip Sealer. Fast dry and bond is what you need. Then slap on the gasket with more sealer front and back then bolt it on. FE 12-15 foot pounds and 25 to 32 for all other engines.
