Radiator for 460 swap

Post by iamthewreckingcrew »

What radiator can I get for my 460 swap into my 68 F-100 2wd? I have a new one from my 81, but the tape measure says it won't fit. I don't want to chop anything up if I can help it.
68 F-100 Short Box 2wd
302/c4/3.50
81 F-100 Long Box 2wd
460/c6/3.00
92 F-150 Lariat 4wd
302/auto couldn't go wrong for $500

Call around to your radiator suppliers, tell them your looking for a 480, or a 1501. These are universal, or data point standard numbers that all part suppliers use to indentify radiators. the 480 is a 3 row for a 73 F-series with 460. the 1501 is a huge 4 row. Both have a core dimension of 26x24.

not sure on the numbers, but i pulled a 4 core out my 73 and used it. doesnt mount up like i want it to but will fit well with very little work. ive already got mine in but havent modified it to mount right. i was told that it doesnt fit right because mine is from a 4wd. all im gonna do is turn the mounting tabs around. as it is i have to use long bolt and *should* have spacers in to hold it straight. hard to describe.
