That's why I suggested the Cleveland. SWB F-100 is a pretty small, sporty little truck. Was just thinking that motor with some wide rear tires, 4.10s, and a nice rake... that'd be pretty hot.Bobaloo2 wrote:A Cleveland being from the 221-260-289-302 family, just looks small, and like someone above said, belongs in a Mustang.

Re: 351C vs. 390
He has the 351C sitting there ready to go. As much as I like my old FE's I say go with your 351C. He already said it was not going to be a trailer towing, off-road 4wd truck. If that were the case I would say plug in the FE.
And as far as someone was talking about a poor head design. All I am going to say about that is one was brought to market in 1957 the other was brought to market in 1970. Although one could make a arguement that the head did come out in 69 on the Boss 302. And we all know huw much of a head design blunder that was by Ford

Re: 351C vs. 390
Well I was mostly wanting some input on the horsepower of a 390, with these performance items, just curious. I have the following on my 352, which could be used on a 390. Edlebrok aluminium 390 performer intake, holley 600cfm 4 barrel carb, flowtech headers dumped into dual exhaust with glass packs. Other than those performance items, I would put a good cam in it and thats about it. Horsepower estimates anyone?
Now I have that brand new 460HP, 351C, with a brand new C6 auto, for $1000, Can't beat that. This will most likely be going in sometime soon. Don't get me wrong I would love to put a B.B. FE in, but to build me a 390 with that much HP, for a 1000 bucks, not sure if I could do it around here. Never built an engine, so i'm not familiar with the costs of putting one together. Another plus is that 351C and C6 is already built sitting in my garage.
Info: My truck is a 1967 F-100, 2WD, automatic.
What I use my truck for is minor daily driving, hotrod, hotrod, hotrod, hotrod.
What I DO NOT use it for, offroad, hauling heavy loads, or to pull trailers, not a work truck.
What I want from my truck is, a hotrod-daily driver.

Re: 351C vs. 390
iether way you could always upgrade to three dueces on the 390 and then sell the four barrell setup to a baord member.
Or go 351C and again refer you to the first line of this respone.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~
