Dual Exhaust with Aux. Fuel Tank
Does anyone sell an “off the shelf” dual exhaust system for those of us with factory frame mounted auxiliary fuel tanks?

I had a set of duals made at the muffler shop for my truck. Bent the pipe from straight stock. 2" duals and mufflers $178

Re: Dual Exhaust with Aux. Fuel Tank
you can run dual 2.5" down one side. It fits with no problem. You can even have one tail pipe cross over after the differential and go to the other side if you wish.

Hooker does, as long as the tank is on the driverside.
You'll have to modify it for anything except thir headers and mufflers.

Here's the link I found but there is no photo or explanation on whether it crosses over to the passenger side to clear the aux tank. It's probably for headers only so if you need something for manifolds you might be outta luck.DuckRyder wrote:Hooker does, as long as the tank is on the driverside.

Re: Dual Exhaust with Aux. Fuel Tank
With glasspacks, headers and an RV cam they sound terrific (really unique) if you run duals and tailpipes out the same side with the outlets right next to each other. Different than any other kind of dual exhaust I've heard. I've had 2 78's with 400's set up that way.

Re: Dual Exhaust with Aux. Fuel Tank
It does crossover, I've posted pictures of mine in the past. They used to list one for manifolds too but havenot for a long time. You could probably have an exhaust shop adapt it to manifolds, but then you might as wll just have them do the whole thing.sideoilerfe wrote: ...but there is no photo or explanation on whether it crosses over to the passenger side to clear the aux tank. Re: Dual Exhaust with Aux. Fuel Tank
Hey guys,
Thanks for the help. I think I'll run a stock (single) system for now and have a muffler shop weld a dual setup later.

Re: Dual Exhaust with Aux. Fuel Tank
That also works. Try a bigger pipe like a 3 inch. 2.5 into a 3 works well.SixManCab wrote:Hey guys,

Re: Dual Exhaust with Aux. Fuel Tank
For those who have done dual exhaust down one side, did you run a balance pipe? If so, how did you figure out where to run it?
In the past, I've waited to find the "blue spot" on each pipe, and "connected the dots" so to speak. I haven't tried this on a vehicle where both pipes run down one side, and the exhaust pipe on the drivers side is so much longer.
Might be a funky looking "H" pipe

Re: Dual Exhaust with Aux. Fuel Tank
I wouldn't worry about that. Just put one in to balance it out. It's a truck and you won't notice the difference if it isn't exact anyway. That's why I suggested run a single 3 inch pipe.

Re: Dual Exhaust with Aux. Fuel Tank
Another option would be to have a shop or if you caan weld exhuast yourself, curl the pipe out to run under or outside of the frame missing anything burnable meltable until you clear the obstacle. or roll/bend/angle it out the same way and dump it out the sides before the aux tank.
