Got Water in my oil

Post by HH Henderson »

Trouble with the 360 and depending on what I find, I may have to rebuild or go to another engine. I would like to go to a later engine without having to change a lot. Suggestions open for a later model. Don't care to get into the computers tho.
:hmm: :help:

if you want a bolt in without any bull the 390 was made up to 1976. if you want tochange the transmission the 302 is still being made i think. computers started in the mid to late 80,s. alot of a new engine recommendation depends on what you want to do with the truck. are you thinking of a 6 cyl for gas mileage? do you want to pull trailers? or just cruise it?

Water in the oil, not antifreeze? It might just be heavy condensation from too cold of thermostat and too much short drives. It could be an intake manifold leak. could be lots of things that would be easier to fix than finding a new engine. Keep us posted on what you find.

The oil is milky. I was pulling my lawnmower trailor and after about 15 minutes of running, the truck became sluggish, so I ck the oil....Milky....
Will keep you updated...Thanks :fr:
