Hey, I'm pretty new to carburetors, but I have an Autolite 1100 that I need to rebuild.
I think it's an autolite 1100, here's some pictures.

Any hints, tips or tricks for the rebuilding?

Yes and it appears to be the very rare updraft version.
Get a kit and follow the directions, they are pretty simple.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

Re: Carb rebuilding
I got the kit but I don't know if I should rebuild the carb, it has a piece on the air horn which somehow was physically bent by the previous owner.

That little piece with the brass tube sticking out under the choke, and it's straight across from the black choke housing.
Does this mean that the carb is junk now? Or would it be possible to maybe bend it back out?
EDIT:
In case no one saw what I meant exactly, here's a revised picture.
