No, the 351m/400 frame stands are totally different from 300/360 stands. For a 300 you need 300/360 frame stands. The older frame stands will not bolt into the 77-79 trucks either since the holes in the frame changed. You can easily redrill the holes in the stands to line up though. As I recall the early stands on a later frame miss one of the top two bolt holes though. Still works fine.

With the old 300/360 stands you can. The 351M/400 stands are too low for the 300. They are a different design and will not work with the six.
I've done this exact swap into a 77 F-250 and the 351/400 stands will not work at all.

You can't really tell what the stands are by looking at them unless you have a known set to compare them to or are really, really familiar with these trucks.
The 351m/400 stands are fatter and shorter than FE/300 stands.
The common sense way to figure it out is if you have a 1977 or later truck (highboy or not since the 351m/400 came out 77 model year NOT 77.5 like the body style/chassis change) and look at what throttle linkage is installed in the cab. The six linkage goes to the passenger side of the engine or has a cable on the latest 79 trucks. The V8 throttle is just a straight up rod. Most 77-79 4x4's were 351m/400 trucks.

Re: frame/motor mounts for 4x4 dent
the cab im using is a 78 with the cable linkage for the throttle the truck that the frame is from is a 73/79 highboy i think if should be a smooth bolt on swap with a 4spd i6 motor i just completed the body removal with a rachet log chain and a bump i even ripped off half of the bumper. now it is time to be carefull with the truck that i like when i take that apart. I made a tripod that is at least 20 feet high to pull the good cab and motor the rusty bolts in the bumper are going to be the hardest part of the swap. I gotta round up some wheels to move them junks around the yard now gotta get busy
