I got everything back from the ceramic coater yesterday and it all looks pretty good.
I also bought a 1994 lincoln mark VIII IRS and have started mockin things up and figureing out how I want to insatall it. I will be cutting off the original mounting points and welding the lincoln subframe in with 3/16" steel plate. I will also be boxing the frame with 3/16" steel plate to help stiffen the chassis and make the IRS work better.

Thanks. I dropped the bed back on today so I could see how the rear looks and check all my measuremnts. I will be welding in some brackets to keep it in place then remove the bed so I can weld in all the actual brackets. I was looking around and noticed that I will probably be able to reuse my driveshaft I had made to run the 93 crown vic axle so that will save some time and a couple hundred bucks. I also found the wheel adapters I needed locally for $75 so now I have the 18"dodge wheels installed again and spaced out where they should be like on the crown vic axle.
I have to say this is much more complicated than installing a solid axle even though with the solid axle I had to weld new brackets and set pinion angle as well as fab up brackets for the sway bar. With the IRS you have to deal with the center section not stayin up unless you have a jack under it and then you have to make sure both wheels are at the right angles then you have to get the upper spring mount right along with getting the pinion angle right, its just alot. The IRS will probably be one of the hardest things I have installed on the truck to date.

Looks amazing! Compound turbo's are pretty cool, its too bad it didn't work for CAT on the C-15, its just a turd. Sucks they aren't going to be making truck (Real truck, not pickup truck) engines anymore. But i do hope the compound turbo's work for you!
Thanks. The compounds should work out ok the 5.9L cummins guys are making 1300+rwhp and crazy tq with compounds and the duramax guys are running 11's in the quarter mile in crew cab 4x4 trucks with a stock injection pump running a stock turbo and a gt42 in a compound turbo setup. The compounds are a very proven setup on diesels that will give you almost instant spoolup and lots of topend power as well, of course this all assumes you size the turbos correctly for the engine they are on. Only time will tell.
I got a little more done on the truck before I had to go out of town. I got the IRS in place and welded in for the most part, I just need to finish boxing it in and finish the upper spring plates to be done.
I also started installing the twins again for the final time for a long time hopefully, the new charcol/ cast iron engine color looks really good against the polished ceramic chrome. I will post some pics when I get home in a week.

also some more progress on the IRS. I work on the twins at night since I dont have to use the grinder or other noisy tools and wake up the neighbors
Here are the blankets I will be putting on the turbos I forgot to get a pic of the intermediate and wastegate piping blankets before I went out of town.

Thanks guys I appreciate all the good words. I am out of town again on another job but I hope to be home in 10 days or so. I think I can get most of it finished up in about 4-5 days after I get home. I know it looks a mess right now but I will have it all cleaned up and painted nice after I do all the final welding and install. I will be driving around for a while with no hood or bed on so I can do some tuning on everything so I guess I better make it look decent. I stoped by the house yesterday after leaving a job so I could come to this one in south Texas and I had enough time to remove my injection pump. I have a buddy in georgia that really knows these injection pumps and he is putting some pretty good mods into the pump, we are expecting over 200cc of output which is alot for this little motor, luckily I have more than enough air for it

I got home this morning and got a few things done. I picked my daughter up and she insisted we work on the truck, I have to follow orders after all . We got some studs installed in the head for the header and installed the new turbo blankets on both turbos and the intermediate pipe, I think it turned out well. The pictures dont look nearly as good as they do in person but you get the idea, I wish the intermediate pipe blanket was a little wider so it covered more but it turned out good overall and it will get the job more than done. I have to get a couple fittings monday to finish the oil drains and I will have the turbos installed, I will just need to get my injection pump back and install to hear these puppies come to life, I cant wait.
This one shows the blanket for the HY35 turbine housing, I am showing it off the turbo so you can see how these attach. The blankets use 2ft long stainless steel zip ties to be held on, the SS zip ties slip through part of the blankets for a nice clean look.
hmm im interested in the suspension upgrades you made, ive been kicking around that same exact idea, but i didnt know what to source the irs out of. i know my subaru outback handles corners at 90+ like a beast with the ifs/irs/awd and im looking to get my truck to do the same for some fun on the auto xing course
