valve springs
I am in desperate need of help! I have a 69 f100 with a 360 and I am wondering the max lift on the stock springs with stock rocker arms?? I'm putting in a cam with .469 intake lift and .495 exhaust lift. Both summit and jegs says the stock springs will be close but they will work, if my math is correct and the stock rocker arm ratio is 1.76 then this cam will be really close but it will work. Comp cams gave me the corporate you have 2 buy our springs bs. HELP

Re: valve springs
I would not try to run that cam with stock prings, if you do try you are going to have to do all of the checks for coil bind and retainer to guide interfearance. No one here can tell you if it will work or not.
If you don't have spring rotators it *might* be O.K., if you do have rotators its a no go.
Now, here is where I feel compelled to point out that advising you not to run 40 year old stock springs that were designed for a cam with lift in the low .400's on a new performance cam with almost .500 lift is not "corprate b.s." it is good sound advice and you should avail yourself of it.

Re: valve springs
Isn't the stock rocker arm ratio 1.6? If it is or isn't, new springs don't cost much.

Stock non-adjustable FE rockers are 1.73:1, adjustables are 1.76:1, and most aftermarket are 1.76:1
