front parking lights

does anyone have a diagram or suggestion on how to rewire my front parking lights so that they stay on when the headlights are on.

I know that ford designed them to shut off, but I don't like it.

Yeah, we went thru this before, check out this thread and the link within it. Also refer to the wiring diagrams Keith has.

Wire #285 is Brown and #11 is Black/Yellow stripe. Take a jumper and connect these two wires together.

Ignore the last post, it's to complicated to follow through. Look at the back of the connector on your headlight switch, your wire colors may or may not be the same but go by the locations, here's a sketch on a Post-It.

Here's something even better. I went out and checked my '68, jumper the brown wire and the black/yellow stripe wire as noted before.

I saved that photo. I'm going to have to do that when the time comes.
This won't affect the operation of the park lights as turn signals, will it?

No it shouldn't (fingers crossed)

The front turn signals have two filaments, one for parking lights and one for turn signals (same as the rears). The jumper only connects the tail lights and parking lights together.

That's basically what they did on the '70 and later headlight switch connector, they pulled out the black/yellow stripe wire from that location and tied it to the brown wire back in the harness.

BTW, my brake light snafu happened BEFORE I jumped my front parking lights

Will that backfeed to much power to the tailights or parkinglights.

Not at all, the lights only draw enough power that they require. Say a lamp draws 1/2 amp and you feed it with a 100 amp source, it's still only going to draw 1/2 amp.
