Mary wrote in with this problem:
Dear Bill, Last week I left the house for work, leaving Frank on the couch watching TV as usual. I didn't get more than a mile from the house when the car conked out and wouldn't restart. So I walked back to the house to get Frank to help me, and what did I find but him in bed with our neighbor's daughter! Frank's 41, the daughter is 24. After some very uncomfortable dressing, Frank and I had a long talk, and he confessed that it had been going on for four months, and since he lost his job he had felt depressed & worthless, and this was just mainly a self-esteem issue. I love him dearly, and have forgiven him, but he has withdrawn since that day, and I can't get him to talk and I'm afraid he may start up with her again if we can't connect. What should I do?
And Bill's reply:
Well Mary, the first thing we need to do is determine if the car lost spark or fuel, causing the shut-down. Once we determine which one we don't have, then we can investigate the cause and determine why it won't start. Could be s simple as a rotor or coil wire, or even a clogged fuel filter. Good luck with your car.

Sounds like good advice to me.

. Why would anyone not figure that's sound enough advice? Most women couldn't give advice like that!

I'd check the fuel gauge first....sounds like Frank may have been too busy to put gas in the car.
