engine towers stock 68F250 ??
did they offer a big block set of stock towers in a 68 F250? If the biggest was the 390 then Im assuming those wont work for the 460?

No, the FE engine perches will not allow you to bolt in a 429/460. You'll need to get those either from a dentside truck or via an aftermarket kit.

Actually, they do. At least the top holes...I don't specifically recall if they use the existing bottom holes as well, but I'm pretty sure they do. I recall that they're a bolt-on for '70-up trucks which have the crossmember drilled for FE and small-blocks, I just don't recall which set of lower holes they use. If they use the small-block holes, then your '68 crossmember will be missing these holes and you'll have to drill them using the 460 perches as a template, since the small-block wasn't available until mid-69.
In other words, in a worst-case scenerio you simply bolt the perches on at the upper bolts and drill a couple holes for the lower bolts.

Looks like 73-79 only 2wd offered the 460... and assume those are bolted to the crossmember like the 67-72 so have to get 4x4 aftermarket no matter...

They should. But I would wait for someone else to say yes before i bought them. I don't have alot of 460 knowledge but I think they will work. Hope this helps in some way. Doug

No those will not work. As 4x4's go there are 300/FE mounts period from 65-76 then from 77-79 the 351M/400 frame stand was introduced. Those are an inch shorter than the earlier mounts, but will not work for a 429/460 with any sort of factory rubber mount.
460's never came in 4x4's before 1980. They don't really fit that well in the earlier 4x4 trucks, probably why they were never offered.
If you want a 460 in one you need to buy aftermarket rubber conversion mounts for the frame stands you have or buy aftermarket frame stands. The L&L stands are notorious for breaking and coming apart so I would avoid those. Autofab's look pretty good, probably a much better option.
