condensor for radio noise

my truck has the whining through the radio when you rev the engine, how do I fix it? I have a cd player to put in it but want to address the noise first.

Certain types of plug wires will caude that noise, as will a bad ground on the radio itself. They do sell inline noise filters at most auto parts stores and wal-marts, but I don't know how well they work.

I have heard that sometimes when alternators start to wear out or are not properly grounded that it will cause noise to come in the wiring.
