Holley carb, new or rebuilt

Post by oddball »

Im looking at getting a new Holley 4160 and I want your opinions on which one to get. I like the adjustable model but Im putting it on a work truck so I kind of just want to install and forget it. Also how are the Holley rebuilt ones from summit, etc.? They say they are flow tested, so are they pretty close to drop in and go?

Pesonally, Ithink there is nothing better than a brand new carburetor. The ramans are ok but I have yet to be happy with one. I put a brand new 500 cfm holley on my truck and what a difference it made over the reman one I had on there. The reman I was using want a holley though so their quallity control in their reman stuff might be better than others. If the price difference isn't that much I would still go with the new one though. Just my :2cents:

I don't know about summit but I wouldn't take an over the counter parts store reman if it was free.

Go on E-bay under holley carbs, holley has reman carbs listed direct from the factory. These are new carbs that are sent back for various reasons.mostly not paying attention to the setup manuel. They are checked out and sold with a 90 day warranty, shipped from the holley plant in KY. I have used carbs from them 2 times no issues. They have reall good prices on these carbs, a lot less then the auto stores.
