the choke isnt hooked up, thats one of the things on the to-do list. we just have to manually open/close it

Re: the bump wont start
that maybe your problem on a cold day.
AS cold as its been here i have to choke the truck to start it and then i push the choke fully open and just let it idle for a couple minutes before i go.
Is it a electric? manual? or heated

I don't really care about brands Chevy Ford Dodge ...as long as it doesn't sound like two old dudes farting in a coffee can.

Re: the bump wont start
the electric choke needs to be hooked up to a hot when the switch is on. Best place if i remember correctly is the stator wire on the alternator.
I've personally never had a electric choke..i think there is something you have to do to set the choke before you try to start.
Something like turn the switch on and push the gas pedeal to the floor once and release.
though i could just be crazy... If you still have the instructions to the carb they can also tell you how to hook up the choke
