Those control modules are notorious for crapping out all of a sudden. I used to carry a spare one around in my 78 thunderbird just in case.

well it is the ignition switch, i can jocky it back and forth while pushing the starter button and it wil try and catch. does anyone know if one from a 74 Galaxie 500 Wagon will work? they both had 351's at one point.

ill pull the module from it and hopefully there are both the same color and see if that helps.

i think i said i think not i believe or know for a fact that it was set in stone before caveman invented god. but the color codes of the boxes are the aftermarket colors. and the colors have to do with what performance and so forth you want out of your stuff. but i think that the regular stock module boxes will alll intherchange and work with any engine that has a need for a module. except for maybe 6 cyl to a v8. that could be a difference. i would just try it and see.

The ignition switch has a different connector.

well it was the control module. took a spare i had in the wagon and the truck fired right up. now i just gotta figure out why the secondaries on the carb aint opening up.

edelbrock 4bbl. mechanical secondaries

The secondary linkage is bound up usually at the throttle shafts.

Do those carbs have the secondary lockout on the choke? I know most 4 bbls won't open the secondaries until the choke is fully open so if it's a little lazy, no secondaries.

Some do like my Holley does. But it will be obvious. The choke looks like it is a part of the secondary linkage when the choke is on.

it aint the choke, i can have the choke manually open all the way and they dont move. i bet they are bound up inside
